In the first 72 hours of our strike vote, a historic number of nurses cast their ballots. We are not reporting the final vote results until after the vote closes at 11 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 17 to make sure everyone has had a chance to vote. For the few folks left who have not cast a ballot, be sure to do so before the deadline. We will be announcing the vote results at our Ready to Bargain, Ready to Strike Rally at the waterfront,
at noon on Monday, Sept. 18. Details can be found
on the flier. Nurses and community members can RSVP for the rally here:

In the meantime, we are headed to
mediation on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (Sept. 13-15) to again attempt to reach an agreement. We will update you as we are able.
While OHSU reaps billions in profits and acquires Oregon’s 3rd largest health system, our hospital is in crisis: OHSU refuses to invest in security measures seen at hospitals across Oregon. Our units have experienced double-digit turnover, some experiencing turnover upwards of 60%. RNs have missed nearly 400,000 breaks since 2021. While millionaire hospital executives gave themselves 22-40% raises, nurses' wages fell 3.5%. Our patients do not receive the care worthy of a nationally ranked institution. Nurses deserve better, our patients deserve better, and our community deserves better.
Our AURN-ONA bargaining team calls on all nurses to attend our Ready to Bargain, Ready to Strike Rally
on Monday, Sept. 18 at noon. Community and political allies will join nurses to demand a fair contract. Your bargaining team will make an important announcement on our strike vote and any potential agreement. Our power as a union rests upon our solidarity; together we can win a historic agreement for nurses and patients.
