The Oregon Nurses Association (ONA), represents over 24,000 frontline caregivers who are fighting for the same reasons you are; better working conditions, stronger wages and benefits, and more time to focus on patient care.
ONA has developed Power in Membership, a program for members who have won a union election and are in the middle of fighting for a strong first contract. This program gives you the opportunity to become a full ONA member now.
As a power-in member you can vote in ONA elections, run for ONA office, bring your voice to the House of Delegates, participate in special interest groups such as the Nurse Practitioners of Oregon, and more.

Through Power in Membership, you would pay $50 a month until your first contract is ratified. As a union, dues are foundational to building statewide power. It’s how we pool our resources to pay for bargaining costs, legal support, communications experts, advocacy, and so much more. Dues allow us to have an equal footing with our employers who have deep pockets and access to endless amounts of money.
This is an opportunity for you to join the work of ONA and begin participating in our statewide organization as we fight for a stronger more vibrant healthcare system in Oregon.
If your facility already has a contract, but you want to join click here for the proper membership information. Additionally, if you've come to this page looking for resources to organize your facility (meaning you haven't had a declaration, vote, etc.) click here to get in contact or learn more.
Want to Be an ONA Delegate? Become a Member!
ONA’s 2026 Convention and House of Delegates will be held May 4–6, 2026 in Eugene — and you have the chance to be part of it. By joining Power in Membership before November 1, 2025, you can run as a delegate and represent your coworkers in ONA’s democratic decision-making body.
Power in Membership is for ONA frontline caregivers who have won their union and are currently fighting for a first contract, giving you full ONA membership benefits right away — including the ability to vote in statewide elections, run for leadership positions, and be eligible to run as a delegate for ONA’s convention and House of Delegates.
Delegate applications, and instructions on how to run, will be sent to eligible ONA members in December.
