St. Charles - Bend Nurses Rally for Patient Care

On Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2018, the nurses at St Charles Medical Center - Bend rallied in support of their campaign for a fair contract. Over 85 nurses attended the rally and marched to deliver a petition in support of bargaining priorities to Vice President of Human Resources, Rebecca Berry.

The petition was signed by 86 percent of the bargaining unit and identified the top six demands identified by the members. You can read the petition language below.

St Charles nurses also conducted a sticker day, with an overwhelming majority of nurses on shift wearing stickers in solidarity that stated “We Are United!”.

The success of the rally and sticker action was driven by a very active and broad Contract Action Team throughout the facility. St Charles management was sent a clear message that nurses are united and ready to fight for safe staffing and a fair contract!
