Healthcare Professional Wellbeing
We are in a state of unprecedented struggle for healthcare professionals. The well-being of our direct care staff is essential to the health of Oregonians. Front line caregivers did not create this healthcare system but are carrying the burden of holding it together, which is causing significant mental and physical fatigue.
ONA is committed to advocating for policy makers and health systems to prioritize the mental well-being of all healthcare professionals. In the meantime, if you or someone you know is struggling, there are resources available.
Please keep in mind that not all who are struggling will actively seek help. Sometimes they need a friend or colleague to reach out and support them.
Mental Health Resources
Nurse Assistance Network supports nurses who are experiencing substance use disorder and/or mental health issues and are wanting to talk with someone about resources. Call 888-516-2796 to talk with a nurse on ONA staff.
The Oregon Wellness Program offers access to complimentary mental health support that is non-reported and urgently available to various types of healthcare professionals in Oregon.
Suicide Prevention Resources
