Return to Work and Scheduling

Question: What is the return to work date?

Answer: The first shift returning back will be those who are scheduled for Wednesday, February 26 beginning at 1900.

Question: If I self-schedule, when will I have access to schedule?

Answer: We have been informed that, for CBAs that ratify, nurses will be able to view current schedules in Kronos after 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 25.  Nurses will be able to self-schedule for shifts starting the next schedule period.  Providence leaders built out schedules for the current schedule period.

Question: If I am scheduled to be on standby at 1900 on the February 26, do I begin standby? Does this include procedural units?

Answer: Yes, if you are scheduled to be on Standby beginning at 1900 on Wednesday, you will be on Standby at that time as reflected in your schedule.

Question: If a have a shift that starts before 1900 do I return at 1900 or earlier or not at all?

Answer: Providence has indicated that if a nurse is scheduled to start the night shift prior to 1900, they should come to work prepared to start at 1900 and they will finish at their regular shift end time. Nurses regularly scheduled to start the night shift later than 1900 should  come to work at their regular shift start time and they will finish at their regular shift end time.

Question: Will we have additional time to submit for PTO?

Answer:  We have been informed that the ministries will return to regular PTO request practices consistent with CBA language.  If a ministry’s window for PTO requests occurred during the strike, leadership and HR will work with ONA to confirm a one-time process for PTO requests following the strike. Labor representatives will send out updates to members as we develop that process.

Question:  Will I have additional time to submit for clinical ladder?

Answer: Providence has indicated that Yes there will be additional time and that each ministry clinical ladder review board will work with leadership to determine an appropriate timeline.

Bonus Pay Calculation

Question: What is the expected date that the ratification bonus will be paid

Answer: The agreement is that it will be paid two full pay periods following ratification. It is our expectation that because the contracts were ratified on February 24, two full pay periods will result in payment on April 11.

Question: Is the effective date of the new wages the same as the bonus payout date?

Answer: Yes, two full pay periods after ratification (March 9 - 22 and March 23 - April 5). The new wage will start April 6.
