Sarah Laslett
Phone: (503) 293-0011 ext. 1376
Sarah Laslett joined ONA in 2020. Sarah has worked in the labor movement for more than twenty years. In the late 1990s and into the 2000s she worked for three different unions, and then in labor education since 2004. Most recently, she was faculty at the University of Oregon Labor Education and Research Center. That was when she first worked with ONA doing Bargaining and Steward training for a number of different bargaining units and helping develop ONA’s Bargaining Unit Leaders Conference. While Sarah is not a nurse, she has the greatest respect and admiration for the profession and the women and men who devote themselves to patient care and nursing practice.

Sarah has a Master’s Degree in American Studies from the University of Minnesota. She has lived on the west coast for most of her life, growing up in Los Angeles, attending UC Berkeley and living in the San Francisco Bay Area for more than a decade, then another decade-long stint in Seattle before coming to Oregon.

Sarah’s vision for ONA is to continue and expand our leadership in healthcare, social, and economic justice. She wants to work alongside members to continue building a powerful and democratic union and professional association for nurses, to use an anti-bias equity lens in all that we do, and to engage in community and political partnerships across the nursing profession.
