Per the Governor of Oregon's executive order, acute care facilities must create PPE safety committees constructed of direct care and frontline workers as well as hospital administration. Registered nurses serving on the committees are unfamiliar with their role, responsibilities, and authority on the committees.
ONA is offering an online training course "PPE Safety Committee: Empowerment Through Education for Registered Nurses" via OCEAN, ONA's online CE platform. After taking the course, registered nurses will feel more confident participating in PPE safety committee meetings. RNs will have more knowledge of resources that can be used to guide the work of the committee as well as advocate for direct care and frontline workers. RNs will understand the mandates of the executive order and their professional responsibilities as representatives of the profession.
