"I started my nursing career as a CNA and worked my way up the ranks of education obtaining my Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing at Boise State University and my Master’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Phoenix. I have worked in Long Term Care, Home
Health/Hospice, and in the Operating Room as a circulator. My master's thesis focused on Pediatric Palliative care and nursing education offered in the virtual world. I started my nursing education career as a clinical instructor at a small rural
eastern Oregon community college. I eventually became a full-time instructor for that college advancing to become the director of the nursing program.I became the Dean of Health Sciences at Chemeketa Community College, in 2014, which is where I moved
to be close to my granddaughter.
I have been a member of Oregon Nurses Association shortly after moving to Salem. I have been a member of the Cabinet on Education and served as the chair this past year. I am also a member of the Oregon
Council of Associate Degree & Practical Nursing Programs, Organization for Associate Degree Nursing, and National League for Nursing."

"I came to nursing late in life when I graduated with a BSN from the University of Portland (UP) in 2010 at the age of 57. While at UP, I was the president of the Oregon Student Nurses Association and a board member of the Status Student Nurses
Union.
Before nursing, I worked as an information technology (IT) consultant in London and New York, and after I moved to Portland in 1978, as an assist vice president and IT network and distributed computing manager for 25 years at US Bank. My many years in
management provided excellent background and education for my current position with our union.
Since graduation, I have worked for the past 13 years as an RN in the Providence Portland Medical Center (PPMC) Emergency Department.
I became involved with the Oregon Nurses Association in my early years at PPMC and have participated in four contract negotiations as an officer on the negotiating team. Since August 2021, I have served as the Chair of the ONA PPMC executive team
and negotiating team at PPMC where we are currently negotiating a new contract after initiating the first strike in Providence history in Oregon.
As an ONA board of director member, I am looking forward to representing and serving all nurses in the state of Oregon as we work towards the safety, respect, dignity, fair treatment, wages, healthcare, and sick time that we have earned and deserve."
