Anne Tan Piazza joined the Oregon Nurses Association as executive director in 2022 after nearly 25 years of service at the Washington State Nurses Association (WSNA). For 16 of those years, Anne served at the director level, including as their Labor
Operations Executive Officer and Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives. While in Washington, Anne’s leadership led to the passage of legislation covering mandatory overtime, safe patient handling, meal and rest breaks, safe staffing, public
health funding, and full prescriptive authority for advanced practice nurse practitioners.
Under Anne’s leadership, ONA has seen the passage of an historic nurse staffing bill (HB2697, which is the first legislation in the nation with numerical nurse-to-patient ratios in law), has organized more than a dozen new units and expanded membership
to include allied health workers and advance practice providers, and oversaw powerful limited duration strike across multiple units at Providence facilities and nurses at PeaceHealth Home Care.
Throughout her professional career, Anne has always displayed dedication to justice, diversity, equity and inclusion through staff trainings, enhanced staff recruitment practices and commitment to supporting members through an equity lens. She is
on the Executive Board of the Oregon AFL-CIO and also serves as a member of the AFT Nurses and Health Professional Program and Policy Council as well as the Asian American Pacific Islander Task Force.
When Anne was ten, she immigrated with her parents to the US from Shanghai, China in pursuit of a better future. She grew up and went to college in the Midwest and holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and an MBA. Her husband is an artist
and they have two children.

Janet Bauer joined ONA in 2024 as the organization’s first in-house strategic researcher. Janet supports ONA’s bargaining and organizing campaigns, as well as its legislative agenda. She brings expertise from a career focused on labor and economic issues.
She has held roles as researcher at the University of Oregon Labor Education and Research Center, and policy analyst and research director at the Oregon Center for Public Policy. She holds a Master of Urban Studies degree from Portland State University.
Janet is an avid cyclist, and likes to birdwatch and explore the outdoors with her domestic partner, family, and friends.

Peter joined the ONA team in December of 2023 after nearly 20 years of strategic communications, program management, and organizing for political campaigns, labor aligned organizations, and community-based non-profits. Originally from Chicago, Peter's
career started in northeastern Minnesota on the sunny shores of Lake Superior, and he moved to Oregon with his family in early 2016. He comes form a long line of union members and advocates and has dedicated his life to working on behalf of working
families.
When he is not fighting the good fight, you can find Peter driving around the Pacific Northwest with his wife and twins, looking for the next great place to camp, fish, or ski.

Kevin Mealy is ONA’s Communications Manager, joining ONA in 2013. He works to keep members, staff and partner organizations informed about ONA’s legislative and political priorities, advocacy efforts and legislative achievements. Kevin earned a bachelor’s
degree in Telecommunications and History from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.
He previously worked for the Indiana House of Representatives, Metro and the Oregon Zoo.
Myrna Jensen, BA
Myrna Jensen became a full-time communications specialist with ONA in July 2021. Born in Portland, Oregon she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications/video production from George Fox College. Her love of journalism led her to positions
in television news in Anchorage, Alaska and Minneapolis, Minnesota. She also spent time as a special projects manager for Visit Anchorage where she promoted the city as a destination for film and television productions. Myrna returned to Oregon in
2013 and led public relations efforts at Oregon Food Bank before joining ONA. In her time away from work Myrna serves on the budget and bond committees for Centennial School District in East Multnomah County. She enjoys traveling, Irish dance and
spoiling her cats and rabbits.
Cecilee Henstrom, BA

Cecilee Henstrom joined the ONA team early 2023. As the web and digital communications specialist, she manages website, email and social media content to best reflect up to date and accurate information for ONA. Born and raised in Portland, Oregon she
has always been proud of her state and now is very pleased to be a part of the amazing labor work in Oregon. Cecilee earned a bachelor's degree in news media with a minor in political science from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. When
she isn't working you'll often find Cecilee reading, traveling, or trying out new recipes.
Rachel King

Rachel King primarily formats, edits, and sends eblasts and orders and coordinates all swag. She joined ONA in February 2024 after 3 years as the editorial production coordinator at the Infusion Nurses Society. Before that, she worked in the publishing industry for over a decade, including positions as a project editor, a copy editor,
and a managing editor. Rachel is the author of People along the Sand: A Novel and Bratwurst Haven, an award-winning short story collection that focuses on workers’ rights. When not working or writing, Rachel enjoys reading, acting, and walking.

Tim joined ONA as Director of Finance & HR in 2023. He has over 30 years of experience in finance, accounting and operations, and holds several accounting certifications. He also has a decade of experience and a senior certification in Human Resources.
Tim spent almost 20 years working at the Oregon Museum of Science & Industry, one of the foremost cultural institutions in the Pacific Northwest. He was a member of the leadership team for 16 years, and he served as VP of Finance & Administration
for much of that time.
Casey Campbell, BS, MAIS

Casey Campbell joined ONA in 2009 in the communications department with a focus on website management and digitial communications. In 2022, Casey joined the Member Services and IT department.
Prior to the ONA, Casey worked as a photojournalist for a daily newspaper for several years after earning his B.S. and master's degrees from Oregon State University.

Ruby Ferrell joined ONA in February 2018 as ONA’s Membership Engagement Assistant. Before coming to ONA, she worked in prevention services as a Bilingual Program Coordinator at Lifeworks Northwest. Ruby earned a bachelor’s degree in International
Relations from the University of Oregon. She is native to Oregon and appreciates diversity of all kinds.
