ONA’s 2018–2023 Strategic Plan

ONA member-leaders have worked tirelessly with ONA nurses, staff and leadership groups throughout the state to create the ONA 2018-2023 Strategic Plan. From identifying our core values to updating our mission statement, our strategic plan provides a roadmap for the future of nursing in Oregon.
We’re proud to introduce it to you and share the principles and goals that will shape our work and our organization over the next few years.

“We will ensure ONA continues working to create a world where strong nurses have a voice in patient care, lead new advances in nursing practice and advocate to improve health care for all.” – ONA Executive Director Martin Taylor

How We Arrived Here

Starting in Fall 2017, the ONA Strategic Planning Committee began a 9-month-long process to create a new strategic plan to guide our organization over the next five years.

ONA members led this process and relied on nurses’ insights and opinions through our member survey, strategic planning workshops, retreats and one-on-one meetings with nurses, ONA staff and other stakeholders throughout the state.

ONA’s 2018-2023 Strategic Plan was presented to members during ONA’s House of Delegates in April 2018.
