Open ONA Labor Cabinet Positions

ONA is seeking member leaders to fill four open ONA Labor Cabinet positions. These positions are open for appointment and will run through June 2023.

Those interested in being appointed must be a member in good standing for two years and cannot be a manager at an ONA bargaining unit. Previous leadership experience preferred, with a wide variety of leadership experiences considered.


Responsibilities and Eligibility

The Labor Cabinet functions as the most union-centric cabinet within ONA. The cabinet provides support and guidance to ONA’s labor department. Members of the Cabinet are committed to empowering healthcare workers to advocate for themselves, their patients, their families, and their communities.

This role typically takes several hours a month, with quarterly in person meetings that are a day and a half (and can be attended remotely when necessary) and monthly check in conference calls for months without quarterly meetings.

You must be an ONA member in a collective bargaining unit to be eligible for a seat on the Labor Cabinet. Seats on the Labor Cabinet are designated for representatives from specific facilities. See the chart below for current open seats.

  • Seat 1: OHSU, OHSU - Hillsboro
  • Seat 2: Bay Area Hospital, Coos County Health Department, Coquille Valley Hospital, Mercy Medical Center, Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center
  • Seat 3: Harney District Hospital, Klamath County Health Department, Lake District Hospital, Sky Lakes Medical Center, St. Charles - Prineville, St. Charles - Redmond, St. Charles Medical Center
  • Seat 8: OHSU, OHSU - Hillsboro
