ONA Nurse Lobby Day Issues Survey

Hundreds of nurses will convene at the Oregon State Capitol in Salem on Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017 to advocate for our patients and advance Oregon nurses’ practice. It’s critical that nurses take part in decisions that are made about our priorities and key bills that will come up in the 2017 legislative session.

The day will begin with guest speakers and a brief training to help everyone prepare to talk with their elected leaders. The afternoon will be spent talking with legislators in small groups so we can make sure they hear from members on the front lines of health care and understand our positions on key issues that impact nurses and the overall health of our communities.

This year, ONA is conducting a survey of members about potential legislative issue areas to focus on for Nurse Lobby Day in discussions with legislators. From revenue reform to eliminating barriers to practice and ensuring affordable access to care, the 2017 session is expected to be an eventful and challenging one. Nurse Lobby Day seeks to prioritize the issues members feel are most important to you and your patients. Please help shape the agenda for Lobby Day 2017 by taking the issue survey today.

The survey will remain open through Sunday, Jan. 8.

ONA Nurse Lobby Day is open to all ONA members and student affiliates (Oregon Student Nurses Association members).
