The Oregon Nurses Association (ONA) represents more than 24,000 nurses and healthcare professionals who fight every day for a healthcare system that is more equitable, accessible, and centered on patient care.
While ONA strives to work in partnership with employer when possible, our relationship is at times adversarial. Our members often hold healthcare executives publicly accountable through collective actions and engage in highlighting executive compensation or sharp disagreement with employer decisions in the press and in our messaging, we believe that accountability must never cross the line into personal threats or violence.
ONA condemns all forms of violence and threats of violence, including the use of artificial intelligence to impersonate CEOs or executives and the use of personal photos or private information in ways that spread fear, disinformation, or harm.
At ONA, we know the most powerful force for change in healthcare is solidarity. Our members stand together not only to demand better, but to build it, through organizing, advocacy, and collective action.
