ONA wants to make sure our members receive timely communications from us, ensuring nurses have the most up-to-date information on research, practice issues, contract information, workplace policies, services and more.
If you have not been receiving email communications from ONA and would like to, please take a few minutes to look through the information below to understand why you may not be receiving emails and what you can do to receive emails in the future.
Common Reasons for Not Receiving ONA Emails
- No Email: ONA does not have an email on file for you
- Bad Email: ONA has an incorrect or outdated email on file
- Junk: Emails from ONA are being flagged as junk or spam by your email service provider
- Blocked: Due to several failed delivery attempts, our system has stopped attempting to send emails to your email address.
- Opted Out: You have opted out of receiving emails
Read below what you can do for each of these scenarios to fix the problem and receive emails from ONA in the future.
No Email
If ONA does not have an email on file for you, we are not able to send you email. If you would like to check whether you have an email on file with us, please email us your name, email address and RN license number so that we can update our records with your current information.
Bad Email
If ONA has an incorrect or outdated email on file, the email we send may either get bounced back or sit in an email inbox that is no longer checked. If you would like to update your email address on file, please email us your name, email address and RN license number so that we can update our records with your current information.
Junk
Many email providers, like Comcast, Yahoo and Gmail, have built in Spam/Junk filters or blockers. The filters are intended to prevent you from getting junk mail or spam that is unwanted, but they can often err on the side of caution and block emails that you want to receive. To help prevent this from occurring, please do the following steps:
- Add news@oregonrn.org to your email contacts or safe sender list
- If you need help on how to add someone to a safe sender list, click here for more information
- You should also email us at news@oregonrn.org to ensure there weren't any changes to your information on our end.
Blocked
If we have had too many emails bounced back from your email address (due to full inbox, spam blocks or if your email server is down), you may end up on a "blocked list" and our email system will stop trying to send you emails in the future. If you have stopped receiving ONA emails when you used to be receiving them, you may be on our blocked list. If this is the case, take the following steps to ensure you receive future emails from ONA:
- Add news@oregonrn.org to your contact list or safe sender list
- If you need help on how to add someone to a safe sender list, click here for more information
- Email us at news@oregonrn.org and ask to be removed from our blocked list
Opted Out
Another reason you may have stopped receiving ONA emails is due to opting out or unsubscribing from ONA bulk emails. If you unsubscribe from one type of email from ONA, you unsubscribe from ALL bulk emails from ONA. At this time, we do not have an email subscription management option to choose what kinds of email you receive (e.g. bargaining unit updates, Friday ENews, advocacy, practice or promotional emails), so you either will receive all emails from ONA or none.
It is also important to note that if you forward an email you received from ONA to someone else and they hit the "unsubscribe" link, it will unsubscribe YOU from ONA emails because the original email was linked to your email address. If you want to forward an email, please be sure to remove the unsubscribe language from the bottom of the email to ensure you don't get unsubscribed on accident.
To sign back up to receive emails from ONA, please email us your name, email address and RN license number so that we can update our records with your current information.
