Study of Nursing Aggression Prevention (SNAP)

The SNAP research project is being conducted by faculty and doctoral students from the Department of Occupational Psychology at Portland State University, in collaboration with Oregon Nurses Association (ONA).

This study investigates the frequency of workplace aggression (acts that harm nurses physically or nonphysically, such as biting or insulting) and the current management practices for preventing aggression incidents in various facilities in Oregon. All Oregon nurses from all nursing specialties and health care facilities are invited to participate.

The current study involves a 20-25 minute anonymous survey by yourself and forwarding a 5-10 minutes anonymous survey to be completed by your DIRECT supervisor (it is critical to have their perspective too!!).

Participants will be entered into a raffle to win 1 of 3 iPads or 1 of 20 $100 Target giftcards. The study is currently running through May 7, 2011. The raffles will be drawn on May 15, 2011.
