The Costly Threat of Nurse to Nurse Bullying in the Workplace and What We Can Do About It

Nurse to nurse bullying, also known as horizontal or lateral violence, is a major concern within the nursing profession and workforce. This presentation will focus on defining and describing the problem; its human and financial costs including its role in medical errors and poor patient outcomes; as well as intervention strategies and steps each nurse can take to halt this costly problem and its effects on our patients and colleagues.

ONA presentations on the costly threat of nurse to nurse bullying in the workplace will be offered at Providence Portland Medical Center at three different times to accommodate nurses' busy schedules: 

  • Tuesday April 6th at 8:00am in room HCC 6 
  • Thursday, April 8th at 1:30pm in room HCC 1
  • Thursday, April 8th at 4:00pm in room HCC 1

The session will be worth one CEU.
