CDC Zika Updates

The CDC has compiled information for health care providers on clinical diagnosis, screening, testing and reporting recommendations on the Zika virus, as well as information on symptoms, prevention and health risks.

ANA Zika Preparedness and Response

The American Nurses Association (ANA) has created the Zika Preparedness and Response website that features the most up-to-date information about the Zika Virus and links to other valuable resources.

A key feature of the ANA website is a section devoted to what nurses need to know about Zika as a health care provider.

WHO Launches Zika Data Sharing Protocol

The World Health Organization (WHO) is implementing a new Zika virus data sharing and reporting protocol in order to facilitate the exchange of crucial, evidence-based information during this unfolding health emergency. On submission to the WHO Bulletin, all research manuscripts relevant to the Zika epidemic will be posted online in the “Zika Open” collection within 24 hours while undergoing peer review. During the review process, the papers will be available free, allowing readers to scrutinize, distribute and reproduce the research in any medium.
