ONA/Providence St. Vincent Post Partum and Labor and Delivery Negotiations

Management has given ONA 30 days' notice of intent to reduce paid time off (PTO)/vacation and conference day usage. We have had three negotiation sessions in February and planned to meet again on March 1. The human resources director emailed February 26 to tell us that the negotiations would be cancelled because the division director was called to an urgent business meeting. We asked what the urgent meeting was about because we believe the issue we are negotiating is pretty urgent, but our question was ignored. We now know that the reorganization was being developed but was not announced to staff until later. We do not have another date scheduled for negotiations, but it is likely that this issue will be discussed in conjunction with the reorganization guidelines/process. For more information about our last negotiation session, read our February 22 bargaining update here.  And click here to read the letters from Providence, and ONA's response here.
