Julie Serrano, RNC

  • Charge Nurse, Providence Medford Medical Center
  • Labor Relations Representative, ONA
  • I am interested in attending to make sure that Oregon nursing has a strong voice on the national level. I am always looking for opportunities to engage in activities that will create self-grown so that I can pass that along to others during encounters.

Kimberly Zenkere, BSN, RN

  • Charge Nurse, Sacred Heart Medical Center – Riverbend
  • I I would like to serve as an NFN delegate because I have been active in the ONA, attending the last four ONA conferences as well as being on the contract negotiating committee this year. I, along with 4 other colleagues, have fought for adequate staffing on the 7 surgical units at SHMC and with the mentoring from our ONA representative, Maureen Smith, was able to achieve improved staffing ratios with assistance from the PNCC and staffing committee. Our group won the ONA Adversity award in 2012 to ensure staff and patient safety was being achieved. I am very interested in increasing my knowledge base with regard to labor relations, staffing laws, building solidarity and advocating for nurses. I am in the process of completing my master’s degree in nursing and want to put my gained knowledge toward advocating for the most current, critical and relevant nursing issues that nurses are faced with today. Thank you for the opportunity to apply to attend the NFN conference, I see this as a very exciting education, collaborative and thought provoking opportunity to enhance my leadership skills and nursing advocacy.

Matthew Jones, RN

  • Staff Nurse, St. Charles Medical Center Bend
  • I would contribute through support as a member and participation in fund raising events and any public showing of support to the association.

George Haefling, BSN, RN

  • Staff/Charge Nurse, Rogue Regional Medical Center
  • Nurses in Southern Oregon currently have no representative on the committee; as I have been active at the local bargaining unit lever, and have attended more than 10 consecutive ONA state conventions, yet have never been seriously involved at the state level. That time is NOW.

Joe Sack, RN

  • Staff Nurse, St. Charles Medical Center Bend
  • I would contribute through support as a member and participation in fund raising events and any public showing of support to the association.

Ateusa Salemi, RN, CWCN

  • RN Lead, Good Shepherd Medical Center
