Columbia Memorial Ratifies Contract

On September 13, 2010, a new Columbia Memorial Hospital 3-year contract was ratified by 93.75% of members voting. The wage increases will be 1% on December 1, 2010; 2% on June 1, 2011, and 2% on June 1, 2012. Improvements were made in tuition reimbursement and bonuses for credentialing and obtaining certifications. Additionally, nurses whose units are closed on evening and night shifts will receive shift differential beyond their scheduled hours. Weekend differential was increased to $2.50 per hour. The Nurse’s hospital discount was increased to 70%. Nurses on dock standby will be paid $4.15 per hour. A hospital-proposed one-time option for a reopener on the health insurance article with the stipulation that ONA can reopen one additional article at that time was also accepted.

Thank you to all who participated in reaching this settlement. Your support was pivotal in the outcome of these negotiations! Special thanks go to the ONA Negotiating Team: Carla Lumbra, Kelsey Betts, Linda Pack, Susan Siler, as well as to ONA Labor Relations Representative Julia Stewart, and Erik Thorsen, Columbia Memorial’s CEO for their contributions.
