Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center Home Health Reaches Tentative Contract Settlement

Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center Home Health reached a tentative contract settlement on April 28. A ratification vote will be held on May 11th. The TA consisted of combining the separate Samaritan Home Health bargaining unit into the larger Regional Medical Center bargaining unit. Most of the larger contract’s provisions will now apply to the Home Health nurses. A separate pay scale will apply during the term of the current contract with a total wage increase of 4% over current Home Health rates. A 2 % scale increase will be retroactively applied as at January 1, 2010 and a second 2% increase as of January 1, 2011. Identical to all GSRMC nurses, as of April 1, 2010, newly employed nurses hired into the Home Health nursing unit will be required to join ONA or become a Fair Share Payer (Agency Shop). The current nurses who have opted-out of paying for representational services have been grandfathered into the contract and will not be required to contribute dues or fees.  More details to follow.
